The Switch House is Cescaphe’s newest venue, located right on the Delaware River. The building was once the PECO Delaware Generating Station, but it has been renovated into a mecca of new luxury real estate. The iconic smokestacks give this building a unique look from the outside, with views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in the distance.

history of the battery
The power station, built in 1923, became a major electricity source for a growing city in the 1920s. This building, designed by architect John T. Windrim, was used as a generating station that used the water from the Delaware River to power the city.
After years of neglect and even serving as a movie set, this structure has since become a luxury apartment complex, called “The Battery.” Cescaphe is in its final stages of completing their gorgeous venue space, with corporate events starting this month and weddings planned for early 2024.
This project is part of a decade-long effort to revitalize the waterfront, connecting residents to the rivers with attractions like Spruce Street Harbor Park and Cherry Street Pier. In the near future, a pier is to be added to add more activities and restaurants to the waterfront area.
