What is Cescaphe?
Cescaphe is a luxury wedding brand that is based in Philadelphia. The founders, Joe & Andrea Volpe, had the vision to produce dream weddings at Cescaphe Ballroom, and have since expanded to six other venues all over the city. One of those six is the unforgettable Down Town Club.
The Venue
The Down Town Club is located in the heart of Philadelphia and was founded over one hundred years ago as a gathering place for the pinnacle of Philadelphia society. It’s located across the street from Independence Hall and boasts perfect views of Old City and the Delaware River.
The building’s Georgian revival style evokes the memory of the Industrial Revolution, a period of modernization that has somehow remained timeless. The venue still has the original, stunning brass chandeliers that have been updated with sheer organza shades. The large ceilings and the inlaid marble floors feel chic while still embracing the gravitas of the century-old space.
The Service at The Down Town Club
A venue owned by the Cescaphe wedding brand means that you’re not only booking a venue, you are getting the experience and expertise of the team at the Down Town Club by Cescaphe. The group includes an Event Manager, Event Coordinator, Event Chef, Maître D’, and a Head Server for the bride and groom’s parents. Their full event management team and high-end amenities make every event a luxurious experience.
The Down Town Club has the capacity for 125-220 guests that can dance the night away in the 3,500 square foot ballroom. When you opt to hold your ceremony at the venue as well as your reception, an extra half hour will be added to your 6-hour affair at no additional charge.
Additional amenities at the Down Town Club include clear Chiavari chairs, over two-hundred designer linen choices, a private bridal suite, a three-course custom menu with 60-70 entrees to choose from for your guests, a full-service bar, a custom-designed four-tier cake, and a hand-carved ice sculpture.
Cocktail Hour at The Down Town Club
One of our favorite aspects of the Down Town Club is their signature cocktail hour-and-a-half. Your guests won’t forget it, either! The venue has two separate cocktail spaces, one in the foyer and one in the main cocktail room, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. The foyer features a mix of lounge seating, high-top tables, and a stunning champagne display that welcomes your guests. The main cocktail room offers views of Independence Hall with an elegant white baby grand player piano. The venue’s cocktail room staffs two chef-attended action stations and their famous seafood raw bar along with a full-service bar. Yes, please!
