Nikki & Colin’s Love Story – Ellis Preserve

New Pace Wedding Films & Photo is lucky enough to witness some of the most special moments in the lives of the couples we work with. What’s more, we get to capture these memories on film and then turn them into a priceless gift; a one-of-a-kind wedding film that our couples can watch for years to come. With this one-of-a-kind film, our couples can revisit these moments, relive the magic and romance of their wedding, and share it all with loved ones for the rest of their lives.

Not too long ago, we had the privilege of using our wedding videography services to film the wedding of Nikki and Colin! Their story began several years ago when the two met as freshmen at O’Hara High School.

Right away, Colin had eyes for Nikki, but the feeling wasn’t exactly mutual for Nikki. Despite Colin’s attempts to elevate their relationship, the two remained friends, building a strong bond—of friendship—for over 6 years!

Fast forward to college. Nikki transferred to Penn State from Drexel University and the two reconnected. The friendship that Nikki and Colin shared blossomed into a true relationship when the two began dating their junior year.

Love was there between them from the start! As they began to fall in love during those early years, they may not have known it then, but they were building a foundation for a remarkable life together.

Several years later, Nikki and Colin embarked on a routine boat ride together on the back bays of Sea Isle—or so Nikki thought! You can catch the two of them enjoying the water in their boat most summer days, but this was no ordinary boat ride. Colin and Nikki left shore as boyfriend and girlfriend and returned engaged. They were then met by an ecstatic welcoming committee of their loved ones to celebrate the occasion.

Engaged in 2019, a global health crisis was looming around the corner to remove any sense of certainty out of Nikki and Colin’s wedding day.  When their original plans for a lavish Crystal Tea Room wedding became impossible, they decided that the most important thing was that they wanted to be married to one another. They didn’t want to push back their wedding date, even if it meant not holding the big celebration at The Crystal Tea Room like they initially planned. Since what mattered most was committing their love to each other, Nikki and Colin opted for a smaller ceremony at St. Denis Church in Havertown and a tented reception at The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve.

Throughout the planning process, the venue changed, the number of guests on their guest list got smaller and smaller, and the hundreds of tiny details that went into planning their wedding shifted, but as Nikki shared, “We were able to marry one another in front of our loved ones and were thrilled we were able to celebrate.”

The couple shared that one of the things they cherish most about their wedding day at The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve is the memories—and the chance to see them again and again! “Our video is precious to us. We love reliving the day in a way that photos can’t quite capture. In the video you hear people’s voices, see them hug, dance, and laugh. And not to mention everyone in it felt like movie stars! The quality was incredible.”

We loved bearing witness to such a special day in Nikki and Colin’s’s life together. We feel fortunate that they selected New Pace Wedding Films & Photo, especially knowing that they could share all the beautiful details with their loved ones who were not able to be in attendance. Now, not only can they go back and witness the love, romance, and emotion they shared on their wedding day at The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, but they can share their cinematic wedding film with friends and family for years to come.

We wish Nikki and Colin a life filled with joy, love, and a relationship that continues to grow and blossom the way it did back on the campus of Penn State years ago. We’re so thankful they chose New Pace to enhance their wedding day and capture all the memories and turn them into a beautiful memento of their commitment to one another and we get to celebrate their anniversary this October 17th!
